On this week’s “Gimme Some Truth”, we brought in a special guest. Megan Jerabek of von Briesen joined us in the booth to help us talk about estate planning. Check it out on iTunes or SoundCloud and don’t forget to subscribe!

Estate Planning

With this big episode of our podcast being released, we wanted to take this week’s blog to mention a few things about estate planning. You may remember our estate planning event from a few months ago – we had plenty of people who couldn’t make it that expressed interest in this topic, so we hope you find this post and our podcast helpful.

If you don’t have your estate plan totally in place, you’re not alone – however, it’s never too soon to get started. In our podcast, Megan gives tons of great information on different estate plans and what you can do to start yours. A common question we hear is, “am I too young to start my estate plan?” The short answer to that question is no. Since it is impossible to really know when you pass away, having an estate plan even in your late 20s isn’t too early. Without a plan, your assets will have to go through a court process, which can take a very long time.

Digital Assets

One specific aspect of estate planning that people often forget are digital assets. With the way the world is evolving, more and more of our lives are digital – things like photos and account passwords are in fact very valuable to an estate. It’s important to account for these properly when planning your estate.

We Can Help!
