The Monroe Street Construction Project: Phase Two

The Monroe Street Construction Project: Phase Two

Mar 6, 2018 | Blog

Phase 2 of the Monroe Street Construction Project begins on Monday, March 12th. We previously wrote about this project at the beginning of phase one, which you can read here. Phase two is slated to last until mid-November, making it significantly longer and heftier than the first. Below is a map detailing the traffic flow for phase two:

The City of Madison has stated that there will be no westbound traffic lanes open for the duration of the project (e.g. from campus to our office). Traffic will only be allowed to go eastbound on Monroe (toward UW campus). In addition, there will be no parking on Monroe Street. There will still be parking available in the lot of our building, as well as street parking on Glenway (which may be harder to come by during this project). You can read more about the project on the city’s website.

This will obviously lead to increased traffic on Monroe Street. If you are coming to our office, we recommend planning ahead and figuring out your route ahead of time, whether it be coming from Odana/Nakoma Roads or coming down Glenway from Mineral Point. Be sure to allow extra travel time as it may be more difficult to reach our location.

We understand that this project will make it more difficult to reach our office. Walker Condon plans to operate normally throughout this project, but we are willing to do more remote or alternate location meetings. We have upgraded our video conferencing software, and are always willing to meet via phone or at an alternate location. When scheduling an appointment, please let us know if you’d prefer one of these options.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions – we want to make meeting with us as easy as possible during this project.
