Hannah Baker

Hannah Baker

Client Service Specialist

My Bio

Hannah Baker became the newest addition to the Walkner Condon team in August 2019, after sending us what was perhaps the most legendary inquiry email of all time. Since moving to Madison from Clemson, SC in 2014, she’s become a fully-converted Wisconsinite and likes nothing more than a brandy old fashioned sweet and a basket of cheese curds.

Right now, Hannah’s studies are in preparation for her Series 65 exam, but her educational background is in the arts. She studied creative writing at Anderson University in SC, and printing arts at the Center for Printing Arts at Madison College. As the singer and guitar-player of her band, Labrador, she was a 2019 SXSW official artist, Austin 100 pick, and even got a few shoutouts on NPR’s All Songs Considered and Pop Culture Happy Hour. If you’d like to check out the band, you can see a live performance filmed for WPR’s 30 Minute Music Hour in June here. Hannah’s audio skillset can also be heard on our weekly podcast, Gimme Some Truth, which she edits and produces.

When she’s not meticulously completing paperwork for financial transactions or studying to become an advisor, you can find her watching HGTV with her partner, Evan, most likely being sat on by Hank the cat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are you different from other advisors?

The client is at the center of our process, we don’t “put” you into a portfolio or a product, we work with you to find the best solutions to you and your families needs.

Our experienced advisors collaborate with you in a comfortable environment, seeking to empower our clients in their financial future.

Walkner Condon is fee-only, which means the only revenue we receive is from the management fees that are paid to us by our clients. We serve as a fiduciary to our clients: that means we must recommend products that are in our clients’ best interest. We do not receive any commissions from the sales of financial products.

Does your initial meeting carry a fee?

Our initial “fit” meeting carries no cost or obligation. Usually, this meeting lasts about 45 minutes and is designed to let you get a feel for how we work with clients and discover what you would like to accomplish. We will mutually decide after that meeting if we would like to continue on to further conversations. This initial onboarding process often takes 1-3 additional meetings depending on the complexity of your personal situation.

Do you have an account minimum?

We value personal fit with us over some predetermined minimum investment size. We have discretion over who we take on as clients – there are some committed savers just starting out all the way up to multi-millionaires. Those that are on the lower side of the balance spectrum should be coming to us with little to no credit card debt, good savings habits, and the willingness to take advice.

What are the types of clients you usually work with?

Clients that we work with generally have the following attributes:

  1. You value our cumulative experience, expertise, the thoughtful advice we’re able to offer as a result (and are willing to incorporate it).
  2. You know how to set a goal and achieve it.
  3. You want us to help you grow your wealth, not time the markets or offer tips on “hot” stocks or sectors.
  4. You see us as your knowledge resource for every life event that involves a dollar sign, but you also know that it’s not cool to text us at 1 AM on Saturday.
  5. We enjoy our time together and share mutual respect for one another.

Do you work with clients that want to align their values with their investing?

Absolutely. We offer portfolios for those investors that would like to follow an environmental, social, and governmental (also known as ESG) screening process or wish to align religious beliefs with their investments.

Do you do hourly planning for a one-time engagement?

It is our preference to work with clients on an ongoing basis, as we believe it offers the ability to build a relationship and assure that objectives and benchmarks are met.

We do understand that from time to time, there may be instances where an engagement is requested to give a snapshot in time or solve a particular problem. Jonathon Jordan offers this type of planning on an hourly basis. The minimum fee for engagement service is $2,500, with one half the engagement fee due at the time of the signing of the client agreement. Click here to schedule a no-cost initial meeting with Jonathon where he can understand the scope of the engagement and the projected cost.

Founded in 2012, Walkner Condon Financial Advisors is an SEC-registered wealth management firm based in Madison, WI. We offer our services on a fee-only basis and are fiduciaries for our clients. As we’ve grown, we realized that we could use the expertise of someone who could help our clients wherever they or their families end up. That’s another thing that is comfortably unique about Walkner Condon: we can help you wherever in the world life takes you.
